What should I expect at a jewish wedding?

Lots of joy, and several rituals! There are no restrictions on what guests should wear (beyond the dress code!), and no expectations of behavior. Please ask us any specific questions!

We will have an explanatory brochure at the ceremony, but here are the important steps in a Jewish wedding:

  • Ketubah:

  • Bedecken:

  • Chuppah ceremony: [seven blessings, rings]

  • Yichud:

  • Shtick:

  • Eat and drink

  • Dance and be merry

Where can i stay?

See Travel and Staysection for two hotels very close to the venue.

If you are coming in for the weekend and do not have travel restrictions, we recommend booking at the hotel near the venue, and coming in for Friday night dinner. There will be many people with whom to coordinate ride-shares and trips!

For those who do not travel on Shabbat, please be in touch directly and we’ll have you sorted.

What If I don’t speak english? (Was, wenn ich kein engliscH spreche?)

For our German contingent, we will have a translator on-site to help bridge the language barrier! (Für unser deutsches Kontingent haben wir einen Übersetzer vor Ort, der helfen wird, die Sprachbarriere zu überbrücken.)

Where is the ceremony? The reception? The afterparty?

Every part of the event will be on-site, i.e. at the Pleasantdale Chateau. Once you are here, you can’t miss any part of it!

Can I bring my Children?

We welcome the small ones, though events have been planned with adults in mind. Please be in touch if you would be interested in babysitter service during the wedding.
